A destroyed future and a life in the rubble and darkness

My name is Fares Al-Masri, a 20-year-old young man from Gaza.

This war took everything from me. I lost my father, my brother, and many of my relatives and friends. In a single moment, I went from being a student with dreams to becoming the only provider for my family of eight.

I am now responsible for securing food, medicine, and basic survival for my family, despite having no stable income and living under unimaginable conditions.

The war stole two years of my education. Although I managed to graduate from high school just three months ago, I am unable to continue to university. Not because I lack ambition—but because survival comes before dreams.

Our home was completely destroyed. Today, my family and I live in a fragile tent that does not protect us from the freezing cold of winter or the violence of the wind. Many nights, strong winds tear our tent apart, and rain floods our few remaining belongings, leaving us cold, wet, and terrified.

My mother’s health is seriously deteriorating. She needs continuous medical care and treatment, which I struggle to afford while trying to feed my family.

I am asking for your help today because I cannot do this alone.

Your support will help me provide food, secure medical treatment for my mother, buy warm clothing, and obtain a new, safer tent to protect my family from the harsh weather.
