A Doctor's Stand: Courage, Care, and Community Hope

In the early days of October, I answered the call to serve as a physical therapist at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, staying through days and nights when many left. When danger closed in and the siege began, I remained with my colleagues to protect the care we could still offer to those who could not leave. We shared the little we had—bread, lentils, dates—and kept faith that our duty would guide us through the hardest hours. 🙏

We endured with courage, not for glory, but for the patients who depended on us in the wings of a hospital that felt more like a fortress than a building. I stood by a mother whose son was fighting for his life, I supported colleagues who pressed on despite fear, and I faced the exhausting, humbling days that tested us all. Each step of the way, we kept the promise of care alive, even when the path to safety was uncertain. ❤️

When the moment for evacuation came, I carried the stories and the resilience of those left behind in my heart. I sought to honor every patient who trusted us with their pain, every family who waited for a sign that their loved ones would be safe. My work continues, and I remain dedicated to healing whenever and wherever I can. 💙
