Help Tariq and his family survive War, Famine and Displacement

My name is Tariq Almassri. I am 23 years old, from Beit Hanoun, Gaza. Prior to the genocide, I was studying civil engineering at the Islamic University of Gaza.

During the genocide, my family has endured unimaginable loss. We lost my father and brother Mohammed who were killed in the war, along with many other beloved ones. Our home was also completely destroyed, forcing my family (8 members) to be displaced 31 times over 22 months, moving from one unsafe shelter to another. Currently Beit Hanoun is in the red zone which has been taken over by the military, and our hopes of going back have been crushed. My family and I are displaced in the south and the tent we are staying in is dilapidated and offers no protection. 

Winter has arrived and has brought with it harsh weather. The tent offers no protection from the bone-chilling winter cold, or from the torrential rain that rains down on our heads like hailstones. Nor does it protect us from the summer heat. During the last storm our tent was practically destroyed and leaked severely flooding our few belongings. On top of this, we pay rent monthly on the land we have our tent on.

Additionally, I lost two years from my education without any change or progress. I am supposed to reach the final year of my civil engineering degree studies at the university. However, unfortunately the war has prevented me from completing my education.

Now I am responsible for my family, as we lost my father who was the primary support for us. I am doing everything I can to help my family survive. My mother has a cardiovascular illness and needs medicine.

With basic necessities scarce and unaffordable, we are struggling every day to secure water, food, and medicine. The costs are as follows:

🍞 Food: $450 per week (if vegetables are available they are $200)

💦 Drinking water: $100

💊 Medication: $300

🔥 Firewood: $70 per week

⛺️ Rent for land where my family tent resides: $450 per month

The situation is dire, and we need urgent support to make it through this crisis and begin rebuilding our lives. Every donation to this campaign will go directly towards providing my family with the essentials they need-food, medicine, and the basic necessities that no child, no human being, should be deprived of.
