My name is Saaed, & I am 34 years old. I was severely injured in the war & I cannot stand. I have metal plates in both my legs. My family consists of seven people; my wife, my mother & my four sons, (Abdul, Raman Mohmmad & Jabar). We are hungry & afraid. My mother is an elderly woman with a chronic illness & she shares our hardship. We endure extreme heat in our tent; the sun is unbearable during the day. We live in a street, without adequate shelter. We suffer daily from lack of food, lack of water, insect & rat bites. I am wounded; I need $400 per month for urgent treatment & medical supplies. I need $500 per week to feed my family & to buy the basic necessities of life for my family; prices are exorbitant here. I want my children to have an education, but we don't have the funds for that. For almost 3 years we have suffered the horrors of war - death, displacement, bombing & destruction. We are desperately in need of a safe place for my family & an adequate tent to shelter us. I am appealing to all compassionate people to stand by me, to stand by my children. The pain of seeing my children go to sleep hungry is a pain no parent should have to endure., but alone, I cannot provide them with enough food. Every day we stand in line to hopefully receive a plate from the charity kitchen. I don't have money to buy my children the food they need. I am dying a little more each day from the pain. I can't purchase pain killers; the suffering is sometimes unbearable. We hope that compassionate people will help us by donating, so that we can have some semblance of normalcy.
