Update

Hello everyone! Amani here with a 2026 update.

Here in Gaza it is freezing cold and rainy, but my heart is warm. I married my fiance one year ago, and we are now living together in a small room and expecting our first child. I have not been able to find work, but I have been studying English and education for one year now at university, hoping to be able to work as a teacher in the future.

I am reliant on donations to feed my small familly, and it is difficult. I have diagnosed anaemia from malnutrition, although we do our best for our future child. The room we rent leaks water when it rains, as you can see in the photo, but we are grateful to have a kind of shelter in these dangerous conditions. I continue to support my parents and my younger siblings, who continue living in a tent elsewhere in the the Gaza strip.

Thank you to everyone who has stood with me on my journey so far. I look forward to sharing more news of my pregnancy with you all, and pray for your health and wellbeing in this time. Thank you for your support and prayers for us also.

I humbly ask for any support that you are able to provide me and my small familly in this time.

Amani

Hello!  My name is Amani Mohammad, I am a young woman and the eldest child in my family.  At just 21, I am responsible for looking after my mother, my sisters, and my sick father. Before the war, I was engaged and filled with joy, preparing for my wedding. I had everything ready for the big day, but the war began and our wedding finally took place after the ceasefire in 2025.

Now I am trapped in the north under heavy attack, and we are living in the rubble and desperate for food but have no money. Please help us.

On October 6 2023, I went to my workplace like every other day. I was so happy to dress and walk to my job serving people in the shop. I had graduated school and started work and was looking forward to being married soon. I loved laughing with my colleagues and friends and going home to play with my three beautiful little sisters.

But on the morning of October 7th, everything changed. We were forced to flee from the northern part of Gaza to the south, leaving behind my dreams, my happiness, and my future. Days passed, and then we received the devastating news: our house was bombed and completely destroyed. The only place we had to call home was gone, along with everything we had prepared for my wedding.

After living in a tent that was unfit for human life for many months, we have returned to a former city further north. Here also there is no water, no electricity, and we’re cut off from basic necessities. We’ve had to move many times just to survive, so we mostly need money for warm clothes and basic utensils and furniture for life. My family and I are struggling with no hope of living like others.

I am reaching out today for your support to help my family and me survive during this ongoing war. We are living in unbearable conditions, and my only hope is to provide my sick father and my sisters with the essentials—shelter, water, and food.

Any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in our lives.

Thank you for your support and for standing with us.
