My name is Silas and I am from Seattle, Washington. I created this campaign to raise money to help my friend Samah survive the war in Gaza. All funds will be transferred directly to her to help provide money for food and shelter.
UPDATE: Sadly, Samah's husband's two brothers were killed in July 2025, and her husband has been badly injured . Samah says, "The famine has reached its worst levels. We cannot stand or walk due to the lack of food...My husband's health condition is very bad. A bullet in the abdomen caused the removal of the intestines and spleen. There is a fracture in the pelvis and a shrapnel in the back. My husband and I have been in the hospital since 7/26."
Samah has endured great hardship and devastation, but her spirit is bright and resilient. This is her story:
My name is Samah Al-Saftawi, a displaced person from Gaza. Before this treacherous war, my husband of 6 years and I had a beautiful home and we were eagerly expecting triplets conceived at great cost through IVF. However, due to the intensity of the bombing and violence, we were forced to leave our home and all our possessions, which were subsequently destroyed. But more devastating by far, due to extreme stress and being displaced from one place to another, I miscarried and we lost our three unborn children. My husband and I are homeless now, and even the tent we are living in on the streets is damaged and cannot provide proper shelter. We have no source of livelihood and are struggling just to survive. Please share our story and give if you can, even if it is just a little. Every gift means we have a fighting chance to survive this war and try to rebuild our lives.
