Basem lives in Gaza with his two young daughters and pregnant wife. Their home in Rafah was destroyed in the war, and they now live in a 2-by-3 meter tent that resembles a greenhouse—trapping heat and providing no protection from the sun or disease.

The conditions are unbearable. There is no ventilation, no food, no access to vitamins or healthcare, and nowhere safe for a pregnant woman and two toddlers to survive.
