Shahd lives in Rafah with her elderly parents and brother, displaced since January 2024, when Israeli bombs destroyed their home without warning. They escaped with nothing—no clothing, no furniture, not even food—and now shelter in a small, makeshift tent that offers no protection from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.

Her mother suffers from chronic illness and facial nerve damage, requiring constant care. There is no financial income, no access to food or clean water, and prices have become unbearably high. They are trapped in poverty, sickness, and grief—with no aid and no end in sight.
