🕊️ Who I Am

My name is Um Yamen, I’m 34 years old — a mother of four children, a wife, and a displaced woman living in Gaza.
My life has become a battlefield I never chose — one of pain, hunger, displacement, and fear.
But I continue to fight, every day, for my family’s survival.

I am the only caregiver for:

👨‍👧‍👦 My husband Mohammed (43), who suffers from a severe spinal disc herniation and can no longer move without unbearable pain.
👦 My four children — ages 13, 11, 8, and 4 — who have never known a life without war.
🏚️ We live in a relative’s home, but it's temporary, unstable, and overcrowded.

💣 What Happened to Us

Like so many families in Gaza, the war has torn our lives apart.

🏠 We lost our home, safety, and sense of stability.
📉 My husband is bedridden and cannot work.
🧕 I am left to care for six people — physically, emotionally, and financially — with no source of income and no help.
🍽️ I can’t even provide regular meals for my children due to skyrocketing prices and the complete collapse of the economy.

🩺 Our Medical & Daily Needs

💉 My husband needs a series of six injections to manage his spinal condition — they cost $200. We can’t afford them.
🥣 My children are hungry. I cannot provide them with enough food.
🧼 We lack essentials like clean water, warm clothing, and hygiene items.
😔 My children don’t go to school. Their world is one of aid lines, fear, and nightly tears.

I carry all this on my shoulders — I feed, protect, soothe, and pray. But even strong hearts break when there is no help.
