Her story is not just one of war—but of a mother’s unbreakable love and fight to keep her children alive, clothed, and sheltered despite impossible odds.
Since October 7th, 2023, Noor and her husband have been forced to flee from one place to another, seeking safety with their three children. What began as temporary shelter with her husband’s friend in Al-Nuseirat became a devastating cycle of repeated forced evacuations, overcrowded tents, freezing nights, and now—utter ruin.
A Journey of Pain, Resilience, and Love
First displaced to Al-Nuseirat, Noor lived in a small house with her husband’s friend for three months. When Israeli occupation forces ordered further evacuation, they were pushed south to Rafah, where she and her children were forced to live on the streets in a single tent shared with both her husband's family and his brother's family.
Later, they were displaced again to Khan Younis. Their living conditions were dire—one fragile tent for two families. Noor built a makeshift shelter from blankets to protect her children from the rain and bitter cold. Her children fell sick. Noor felt helpless.
At the peak of winter, a humanitarian organization gave her a stronger tent made of tarpaulin. It was the first time in a year that her family had anything resembling real shelter.
Then came the ceasefire.
Grasping the chance to return home, Noor and her husband walked 20 kilometers with their children to Gaza City. Despite the exhaustion, she was filled with hope—only to arrive and find their house completely bombed and unlivable.
Now, they live in a partially destroyed house near her husband’s aunt’s place. Walls are missing. Safety and privacy are gone. Food is scarce. Prices are high. And the bombing has resumed.
“I was living with my husband and our three children, and our home was always filled with the laughter of my only daughter, Lareen—my little angel, my companion, my everything. But on the fifth day of Eid al-Adha, the holiday turned into tragedy… Lareen was martyred under the bombing, leaving behind an emptiness that can never be filled. 💔
After her death, we were forced to evacuate and moved into a rented house with my husband’s family. In the middle of grief and the heavy burden of high rent, my husband tried to bring food for our children, but he was struck by a tank shell in Zikim, leaving him badly injured. Now he desperately needs medical treatment, while my children need food and care.
Today, I carry the weight of life alone… the expensive rent, my husband’s injury, my children’s hunger and fear, and the unbearable pain of losing my daughter. I have nothing left but to reach out to you—people of kindness and mercy—to be our support. 🫶
Your donations are our last hope… they mean medicine for my husband, food for my children, and safety for my broken family.
🙏 Please help us with whatever you can, and share our story so it may reach hearts of compassion.💔😭🙏” — Noor
