A Family Torn by War, Holding On by Hope

My name is Majd Eyad Al-Ladaa, I’m 21 years old and a university student from Gaza. Since the start of the war, life as we knew it ended. My family was displaced from our home in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood after it was completely destroyed. We lived in a tent in southern Gaza for over a year and a half.

Just five days ago, we moved into a small one-room apartment. The cost is $400/month—an amount we simply cannot sustain. We’re at constant risk of being evicted again, of losing what little shelter we have left.

Our grief is still fresh: my older brother, a journalist, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on December 26, 2024, while documenting the truth alongside his colleagues.

Our Struggle

My father, once a hardworking taxi driver, lost his car in the war and is now unemployed. I am a student of mobile application programming, but I’ve had to pause my education due to the financial devastation we now face.

Prices of everything—food, water, medicine—have skyrocketed. With the ongoing famine and sealed borders, we often go hungry. Our new shelter brings hope, but also fear: if we can’t pay, we’re back in the streets.

What This Campaign Will Support

This campaign is not just for me—it’s for my entire family. Your donation will help us:

✅ Pay rent to stay in our small apartment and avoid being displaced again
✅ Buy food, water, and essentials in a famine-stricken region
✅ Support my return to university and complete my degree
✅ Honor the memory of my brother, the journalist who died telling the world our truth

Why This Matters

“Words and lines are not enough to describe the suffering under genocide—scarcity of food and water, lack of job opportunities, high prices. But your donation, no matter how small, can make an impact.”

Majd’s dream isn’t extravagant. It’s simple: stability, survival, and a path forward. A chance to finish school. A roof that won’t be taken. A life with dignity.
