Meet Malak — a bright young woman from Gaza, full of dreams, strength, and heart.
She earned an impressive 96.9% in her high school exams (scientific stream) just three months before the war began. She dreamed of studying medicine, pursuing a better future for herself and her family. But the war changed everything.

“Every dream I tried to build has been destroyed.”

Malak now lives with her parents, six sisters, and two brothers—11 people in total—in a tent pitched above the rubble of their destroyed home. When they returned after the initial ceasefire, their house was nothing but debris. They set up a tent over the ruins, hoping to survive.

Then the war returned.

Now displaced once again, there is no safe place left. They rely on food from communal kitchens (“takyat”) and humanitarian aid when available. Her father and sister were injured during the bombings, and her family still suffers from shortages in food, medicine, and basic survival needs.

“We tried to find a scholarship for me to reduce the burden on my father… but despite my high score, I received nothing. Then the war came and took everything.”
