Obaida is just 15 years old, but he carries the responsibility of an adult, struggling to keep his family of nine alive in a makeshift tent.

The war has taken everything from them—their home, their security, and their future. For a time, Obaida’s father went missing, leaving him as the sole provider for his six younger siblings, including a 4-month-old baby. Even though his father has since returned, they continue to live in extreme poverty, fighting hunger, cold, and exhaustion every single day.

"I wake up at sunrise and queue for bread for hours. Then, I walk 2-3 kilometers carrying heavy water containers that have injured my shoulders and back. After that, I stand in line at the soup kitchen to bring whatever food I can for my family. We sleep every night cold, hungry, and exhausted." – Obaida
