My name is Sejood, and I am a mother of two beautiful children living in Gaza under unbearable conditions. Our home was destroyed by bombing, yet I am still living in its broken remains because we have no other place to go. There is no tent, no shelter, no protection — only ruins.
My son Yamen (4 years old), who is just a child, suffers from a serious leg condition. He wears heavy metal leg braces and must be taken for weekly medical checkups. I carry him every time because we have no wheelchair, and the weight is becoming too much for me to bear. The cost of a wheelchair is $1000, something I can’t afford — not even close.
My other child, Sanad (1 year old), also needs regular medication. Between the two of them, I am doing everything I can, but it is no longer enough.
