Dear Friend,

My name is Fuad, and I write to you with a heavy heart from Gaza. Since October 7, it's been now 15 months our lives have been shattered by unimaginable destruction and suffering. In an instant, we lost everything—our home, our loved ones, and our hope.

The days that followed were filled with hunger, fear, and the constant struggle for survival. We have lived and still live in a state of permanent displacement, with even the most basic necessities out of reach. Each moment is a battle against despair.

But even in the darkest times, we refused to give up.

The aid we receive from people like you can keep us alive. Your kindness brought us a glimmer of hope in our darkest hours.

Today, we are still living under harsh conditions, displaced in Deir al-Balah. My family—my mother, a resilient and courageous woman of 47; my 26-year-old brother; my 4-year-old sister; and I, at 28—are doing everything we can to hold on.

Once, we had a beautiful home filled with love and memories. Now, it is gone, we are currently living in a tent, and the harsh cold of winter makes our situation even worse.

But we have not lost hope. And that hope lies in the hands of people like you.
