Sana from Gaza, a young woman passionate with her dreams and determined to survive
My name is Sana and I come from Gaza, that land full of kindness, love and dreams that have been shattered.
I'm 18 years old and I'm determined to complete my studies and pass my exams. Despite the famine and the high prices of food in the markets, I'm trying to stay focused on my studies, but I'm constantly running out of energy. The bombings and the suffering of my people have been part of my daily life for almost two years now.
Despite my young age, I am the aunt of many nieces and nephews whom I try to care for; they are precious to me. The disaster that we experienced in Gaza doesn't prevent me from dreaming. I have a wish: to have my own small business so that I can combine work and pleasure by making sweet delicacies. Of course, we all hope that this intense, suffocating blockade will come to an end so that we can start to live again and not just survive.
I'm turning to you in the hope of getting your support. I am not as lucky as most other young women of my age who live in peace. In Gaza, it's a constant struggle for survival. I remain confident and I am grateful to all the people of kindness who will help me.
