๐Ÿ’” Hazem & Maisa’s Plea from Gaza: 9 People in One Cramped Room, No Food, No Medicine, Only Pain

“We are sitting in the dark. We have nothing—no flour, no food, not even a battery to see at night.”

Maisa Mohammed, a 25-year-old pregnant mother from northern Gaza, lives in unimaginable hardship. With two young children and a third on the way, she and her husband are doing all they can to survive alongside his extended family of seven9 people now crammed into a tiny, rented storage room ($250/month) after their home was destroyed in the war.

They face hunger, thirst, illness, and devastation on all fronts. Maisa suffers from malnutrition, and the entire family lives without enough food or clean water. They eat only za’atar and water, when they can find even that.

๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ‘ง‍๐Ÿ‘ฆ Family at a Glance:

  • ๐Ÿง• Maisa (25, pregnant), her husband Mohammed (26)

  • ๐Ÿ‘ถ Their children: Mahmoud (3) and Karim (1)

  • ๐Ÿ‘ต Mother-in-law Badriya (48) – suffers from nerve damage and hearing loss, needs hearing aids

  • ๐Ÿ‘ด Father-in-law Hazem (50) – has spinal disc disease, cannot work

  • ๐Ÿ‘ง Zinat (14), ๐Ÿ‘ฆ Ahmad (6) – both need food and basic care

  • ๐Ÿ‘ง Fatima (16) – in need of support and safe living conditions

โš ๏ธ Most Urgent Case: Ahmad (6)

Maisa’s brother-in-law, Ahmad, suffers from a rare and life-threatening condition. After complete removal of his colon, appendix, and part of his intestines, he now lives on his remaining small intestine, which causes:

  • ๐Ÿ” Chronic diarrhea and severe dehydration

  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Painful infections and ulcers

  • ๐Ÿงƒ Needs IV fluids, nutritional care, and specialized food (bread, rice, potatoes)

  • ๐Ÿšจ Constant hospital visits just to stay alive

Ahmad also needs diapers, medicine, and a clean environment—none of which they can afford.

๐Ÿ’ฌ From Maisa:

“This is my story, and I swear I am not lying. I live in pain watching my children and sick family members suffer. My husband is the only provider, but how can one man carry the weight of 9 people in Gaza today? We have no food, no flour, no light, no safety. I’m just asking for help to care for my babies, my pregnancy, and my husband’s sick brother.”

๐Ÿ›‘ What They Need:

  • ๐Ÿฝ Food and flour (currently unavailable or unaffordable)

  • ๐Ÿ’Š Medications for chronic illnesses: pressure, diabetes, spinal disease

  • ๐Ÿ‘‚ Hearing aids for Maisa’s mother-in-law

  • ๐Ÿงƒ Nutritional support and medical care for Ahmad

  • ๐Ÿ‘ถ Diapers and supplies for two toddlers

  • ๐Ÿ  Safe shelter and support for a newborn on the way
