My name is Fatma Maher, I’m 24 years old, from Gaza. I’m a wife and a mother to a beautiful two-and-a-half-year-old boy. Before the war, I was a university student studying Digital Media, dreaming of a future where I could support my family with dignity. But now, everything is falling apart.

๐Ÿš๏ธ Our home was bombed.

We lost everything—our home, our belongings, and our safety. We're now living in my husband’s family's house, where 25 people are crammed into one space. It’s impossible to put into words the difficulty. There’s no privacy, no food security, no clean water, and no room to breathe.

๐Ÿ’” I have cancer.

I’ve been diagnosed with a tumor in my right eye—it’s cancerous. There’s also tearing and a dangerous blockage that causes constant pain and threatens my vision. I need urgent monthly treatment that costs $70, but we no longer have anything. The donations I relied on have stopped. I have nothing left to pay for the medicine. My current course will run out in just a few days.

๐Ÿง’ My son is sick too.

My baby boy suffers from muscle weakness and needs daily vitamins and nutritional supplements to survive. He still needs diapers and milk, but we can barely afford any of that. Sometimes I hide my tears from him and force a smile, so he doesn’t feel the weight of our suffering.

He asks me, “Mama, when are we going home?”
But there is no home to return to.

๐Ÿ’ฌ From Fatma:

“Please help me. Let my voice reach the world.
Do we escape death only to find it somewhere else?
Or escape hunger through despair?
There’s no food, no clean water, no shelter.
Only pain, silence, and bombing over our heads.
My child doesn’t understand war—but he feels its hunger and fear.”
