Sara is a 16-year-old girl from Gaza with a heart full of colour and a life surrounded by grey. War has stolen her home, her school, and her sense of safety—but not her dream.

“In the middle of the destruction, I create colour. In the pain, I look for beauty.”

Sara lives with six family members, ranging in age from 14 to 50. Her mother suffers from thyroid disease and needs daily medication (Thyroxine). Sara herself struggles with anaemia due to a lack of nutrition.
Her young nephew needs diapers and milk, but these essentials are now luxuries in Gaza.

Their home has been destroyed, their school shut down, and their daily life has become a constant struggle for basics like clean water and food.

But Sara holds onto her passion: art.

“I dream of becoming an artist. I dream of peace. I dream of a life where I don’t stand in long lines just to get water. I miss school. I was always a top student. Now I just want a chance to create.”

Despite the war, Sara keeps drawing—with anything she can find—hoping that someone, somewhere, will see her work and help her keep going.
