“Our Baby Will Be Born Into a Warzone”
Help Diana Prepare for Her First Child in Gaza
“My due date is near, but I have nothing ready—no clothes, no milk, no diapers. Just fear, hunger, and rubble.”
My name is Diana Sami, from Gaza. I’m 27 years old, married, and expecting my first child in just a few weeks. This should be the happiest time of our lives—but instead of preparing for our baby, I am trying to survive war, displacement, and hunger.
Before the war, my husband and I were building a beautiful life. We were newly married, full of hope. Then the bombs came—just days before our wedding ceremony. Everything was canceled. Our home was destroyed. We lost our jobs, our income, and every shred of stability.
๐ช Who We Are
We are a small, close-knit family of four:
-
Diana (me) – expectant mother
-
My husband – unemployed since the war, caring for his sick mother and younger sister after the loss of his father
-
My mother-in-law – elderly and chronically ill
-
My sister-in-law – displaced, living with us
We now live in a tiny storage room above someone’s house. It’s barely enough to sleep in. Rent is 800 shekels/month (~$220 USD), and we have no stable source of income.
We've been displaced multiple times, living in tents, shelters, and now a temporary rooftop storeroom—600 days of war, fear, and survival.
๐ What the War Took From Us
-
๐ Our home
-
๐ผ Our jobs
-
๐ต Our income
-
๐ Our wedding
-
๐ผ Our baby’s future
And now, even the basics of life—water, food, medicine—are impossible to afford. I stand in long lines for water and any aid I can get. But charity kitchens have shut down. Hunger is everywhere. And prices are out of control.
๐คฐ Why We Need Your Help Now
I’m in the final weeks of pregnancy. But I still don’t have:
-
๐ถ Baby clothes
-
๐ผ Infant formula (costs $30 per can)
-
๐งท Diapers ($50 per pack)
-
๐งผ Basic supplies like blankets, bottles, and medicine
-
๐ Prenatal vitamins and proper nutrition (badly needed due to severe malnutrition)
I suffer from extreme hunger and lack of medical care. The food we have left is almost nothing. Even flour has run out. Every bite, every drop of water, is a struggle.
This is our first child—but instead of joy, I feel fear and helplessness.
๐ There Is No Safety, No Relief
We’ve moved from place to place under constant threat. Israeli army orders forced us to flee, again and again. We’ve seen death up close and survived only by God’s mercy.
“Even our hope has been displaced.”
๐ How You Can Help
I am humbly turning to you—though this is not easy. Asking for help feels like a wound to our dignity. But for the sake of my baby, I am asking.
Your donation will help me:
-
๐ผ Prepare essential items for my newborn
-
๐ Buy food and clean water
-
๐๏ธ Ensure basic shelter and safety
-
๐ Get medical care and vitamins
-
๐คฒ Survive the final days of this pregnancy in one piece
๐ฌ From My Heart to Yours
“War stole everything—our home, our dreams, our wedding. Now I just want my baby to be born safely.”
Even a small donation could give my child a warmer, safer start in life—and give me a little peace of mind in a time when none exists. Please help us welcome our baby with dignity, safety, and hope.
Thank you for reading my story. May God bless you and your family.
