My name is Hanaa , and I am a mother of five young children. For the past 20 months", we have been living in a small, worn-out tent, exposed to the harsh weather and lacking the basic necessities of life. Every day is a battle to keep my children safe, warm, and fed.
My children are:
Mohammed (13), Karima (12), Malak (7), Zainab (5), and baby Makka (1).
I used to be an teacher, but I lost my job because of the war.
My husband is a driver, but there’s no work anymore.
We are left with nothing but each other, trying to survive in the shadows of destruction.
How many more times must we start again from nothing?
—
We’ve been displaced dozens of times and each time, we started from nothing, trying to rebuild a life from the ashes.
In our most recent displacement, even our tent wasn’t spared. It was bombed.
I fled again, carrying a new tent and my son, wounded in his chest…
while my other children bear bruises on their small bodies.
How long must this suffering continue?
How many more times must my children grow up through war, wounds, and endless exile?
When the rain comes, it floods our space. At night, the cold bites through the thin fabric of the tent, and I hold my children close, trying to keep them warm. There is no privacy, no electricity, no running water—just a mother's determination to protect her children in the face of despair.
Despite these conditions, I try to keep their spirits alive. I tell them stories, help them study when I can, and remind them that better days will come. But the truth is, this life is wearing us down.
That’s why I decided to share our story and create a support link
hoping to improve our living conditions so I can provide my children with food, shelter, and the dignity they deserve.
I do this as a mother with nothing but her heart and willpower,
trying to save her children from hunger and homelessness—and give them a chance at safety and warmth
Thank you for reading our story and considering our need.
