No safe life, I strive to survive with my family

Hello, dear friends.

I am Raghad Ayyad from Gaza, specifically from the Shuja'iyya area in northern Gaza. I am 20 years old, a third-year pharmacy student. I lost a full year of my studies and am now continuing my education remotely, but this is not easy. I face many difficulties, such as difficulty accessing the internet, the high cost of printing and textbooks, and I cannot afford university tuition.

I belong to a family that was displaced since the beginning of the war from the north to the central region, which is supposed to be safe. We were displaced several times within the central region, fleeing the bombing that followed us everywhere. During the truce, we returned to the north and began looking for a place to live because our house was completely destroyed. We found a small apartment, for which we need $600 a month to pay rent. Now, the bombing and re-displacement continue to haunt us. We have never found a safe place to live.

My father is paralyzed in his right leg. Several months before the war, he underwent a hip replacement in Egypt. He was supposed to return to Egypt to complete his treatment, but the war prevented him from completing the treatment he so desperately needed. He still suffers from severe, persistent pain, to the point that painkillers, if available, are no longer effective, as they are unavailable in Gaza.

We now face not only death from the relentless and insane bombing of the entire Strip, but also death from hunger and famine due to the occupation's prevention of humanitarian aid from entering Gaza. We are also unable to buy food due to skyrocketing prices beyond imagination. Everything happening here is beyond description.

As I write these words, tears well up in my eyes. I am begging you to help save me and my family from an endless nightmare. We have lost everything—our home, our security, and our dreams.
