From University Dreams to the Nightmare of War

My name is Mohammed Yousef Adel Ali Ghreez, a 20-year-old Palestinian from Rafah.
I had just finished high school and was planning to enroll in university, like any other young person my age…
But the war stole everything from me.

💥 The War Turned Our Lives Upside Down

When the war began, our home was completely destroyed.
My family and I fled with nothing but a few pieces of clothing.
My dream vanished overnight, replaced by pain that never ends.

Now, we are living in Ahmad Abdel Aziz School, near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, with no shelter, no privacy, and no safety.

🛑 A Family of 16, Trapped in the Midst of Pain

My family consists of:

• My father and mother

• My stepmother

• 8 sisters and 5 brothers

• And a baby

We all live in one small room, with no electricity, insufficient food, and no basic necessities of life.

💔 Each One of Us Suffering in a Different Way:

• 🩺 My mother has cancer and urgently needs treatment, medication, and food rich in nutrients to strengthen her fragile body.

• 💉 My stepmother suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, needing continuous medication along with vitamins.

• 🦿 My brother was injured in the war and now has an external metal implant. He does not receive the necessary follow-up care.

• 🧑‍⚕️ As for me, I suffer from a deviated septum and eye problems caused by smoke exposure, with no medical care available.

🚫 No Food… No Medicine… No Income… No Clear Hope

• We have no source of income.

• No jobs.

• No flour for bread.

• We cook with firewood when we can find it.

• We live on limited aid from soup kitchens, but it’s not enough.

• Our home in Rafah was destroyed, and we couldn’t save anything.

Shelter, food, and medicine.
We just want to keep my mother alive, maintain our dignity, and survive.
