This is Julia, I have set up this campaign for Ahmed Nashwan. His story in his own words is below.

Update from July 20th, expanding the target to 16'000

I write to you and my eyes drowning in tears and hunger devouring my body, but all this was bearable compared to watching my little nephew eat the last remnants of ground chickpeas after long hours of crying of hunger. Today, 17 of my siblings’ children tasted nothing but water. Today was the most brutal and devastating day throughout all the days of the war. I swear to you, I no longer have the strength to stand, my body is exhausted, and no sound rises above the cries of my empty stomach. Please, we need you today more than ever before. Not for me, but for my nephews and nieces, they are too young and they are starving to death. Please donate and share.

From before:

My name is Ahmed Nashwan. I am a 29 year old accountant who has lost everything in the Gaza massacre. Tasked with caring of my elderly parents, who are in dire need of medical treatment, and seventeen children of my brothers and sisters. These children, who have lost so much, cling to me for love, protection, and survival.

I’m is doing everything i can to shield my family from the horrors surrounding them. But i cannot do this alone. The destruction in Gaza is unprecedented. With over two million people left without water, electricity, or sanitation, the scale of devastation is staggering. The humanitarian catastrophe is overwhelming and incomprehensible. Your donations are a lifeline. Every gift feeds hungry stomachs, provides critical medicine, and spreads hope in these unbelievably challenging times.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with me and my family.

One of the many people your donations support is my father, who dedicated 35 years of his life as an English teacher with UNRWA, educating generations of children in Gaza. He was badly injured during Israel’s bombings and needs surgery in Egypt to regain his ability to walk. Your contributions will help cover the cost of his medical treatment and transportation to Egypt.

We ask for your help to support my family as they try to survive in Gaza. Please consider making a donation to my emergency fund to support my family, including my father, mother, and the seventeen nieces and nephews.
