Help Secure a Brighter Future for My Children 💔

My name is Lyra and I am helping raise funds for my friend Moamen and his family who are trying to survive in Gaza. He has shared more about them in his own words below:

My name is Moamen Nashwan. I'm 30 years old.
I used to be an accountant, and I had everything a small family could dream of:
a home I built with my own hands, a loving wife, and the hope of two children to fill it with laughter.

I spent four years building that house—
stone by stone, sweat by sweat, dream by dream.

I got married. We lived in it for just two months.
Two months… before war stormed in and tore everything apart.

I woke up to the sound of missiles.
I didn’t run to save the house—
I ran to make sure my wife was alive.
The house? Gone.
The car? Destroyed.
My job? Lost.

But from beneath the rubble…
came life—
Jameel and Omar, my twin sons.
Born in the darkest moment.

They weren’t born in a warm crib.
They were born on a worn-out blanket, inside a torn tent.
Their first breath was filled with fear, cold, and hunger.

Every day I live with them in this tent
is a test.
Not just of patience—
but of manhood, fatherhood, and dignity.

I’m not asking for a palace.
Not even for four concrete walls.
I just want to buy milk.
To cover their tiny bodies from the wind.
To protect them from the scorpions of the night, and the rain that soaks everything but fear.

I’m not a refugee—
I’m a father, standing barehanded against death, saying:
You won’t take my children.

Help us—not for me,
but for two babies born into chaos,
who haven’t yet tasted what life truly means.
Help us give them a beginning—not an end.

Moamen and his family have not been able to save any of the money from this fundraiser- they are forced to use all the donations immediately to buy basic necessities such as food, fuel, and milk for the twins.
