Translating Falasteen (Palestine), in collaboration with The Sameer Project, launched a fundraising campaign to support families in Gaza facing severe hardships. Our mission is to provide food & water to those who need it most. In the past, this campaign was dedicated to the North of Gaza but in January 2026, we rebranded this to "Food and Water" and the South Campaign to "Shelter, Goods & Activities" as the geographical areas are not as relevant anymore.

From April 2024 to January 2026, we provided over 55 million liters of water and 230,000 meals distributed!

We are currently providing community kitchens and/or water trucks EVERY SINGLE DAY across the Gaza Strip!

A note about commission and fees that are reflected in our updates: From November till January, our fiscal host in the UK reduced their commission from 7% to 5% and our fiscal host in Gaza stayed at 4%, so you will notice 9% commission instead of our usual 11%. Starting in February, it went back up to 11% as 2% is now allocated for stipends for the team abroad. This commission is taken from the amount that arrives in our fiscal host's bank account - keep in mind if donating through Chuffed, it's free, tipping is optional, but the platform removes the Stripe processing fee from each donation.

About Translating Falasteen

Translating Falasteen (@translating_falasteen) is a platform dedicated to translating videos from Palestine on Instagram and TikTok. Our goal is to amplify the voices of Palestinians and share their stories with a global audience. Now, we want to take our commitment a step further by providing tangible support to the people in these stories, as well as thousands of others in need, through our collaboration with The Sameer Project.

What We Do

Our aid efforts for this campaign include:

- Water Aid: Providing fresh drinking water through water trucks to areas with limited access. We currently get water from various desalination plants but we are hoping to purchase our own desalination plant in the near future to lower costs.

- Food Aid: Delivering food packages to ensure no family goes hungry - we assess the camps to see which ones don't get any food or sufficient amounts of food. This is done through our own kitchen in Zawayde where the cost of a meal is around 50% less than other kitchens. 

How We Operate

Our dedicated team consists of four Palestinians (and other volunteers) in the diaspora, working in tandem with a ground team in Gaza to execute our operations efficiently. We meticulously assess each family's needs to ensure your generous contributions are used effectively and directly impact those in need.

100% of Your Donations in Action

Rest assured, 100% of your contributions will be used to deliver aid. There is a commission that we have to pay to get money into Gaza as the financial system there is broken. 7% goes to our fiscal host in the UK: Social Change Nest who receive all our money, do the due diligence and then send it to Gaza via bank transfer. Our fiscal host in Gaza takes 4% commission to receive the money and do multiple transfers per day for any purchases that we may need. So the total is 11% commission to be able to get money into Gaza. The rest of the money all goes to our work in Gaza, including the ground team salaries.
