We are a small, loving family that once had simple dreams: to live in peace, to work with dignity, and to raise our children in safety and hope. Today, we are fighting for survival under the ruins of war in Gaza.

Before the war, I was an electrical engineer. I worked hard every day to build a life for my family. For nine years, I saved every penny to build a modest home — the dream we all waited for. Finally, just nine months before the war began, I completed our house. It was a symbol of everything I had struggled for.
Then, everything collapsed.
Bombs rained down on our neighborhood. Our beloved home was destroyed in an instant. We were left with nothing but dust, pain, and trauma. We survived — but the emotional and physical scars are deep. The place where we once laughed, ate together, and watched our children grow is now rubble.

Today, we live in constant fear. Airstrikes happen at any hour, without warning. My children scream in the night. They cling to each other as they sleep on the floor, whispering, “We want to die together if a bomb hits us.” My heart breaks every day. What kind of childhood is this?
We are not only facing bombs — we are also battling hunger. Food prices have become unimaginably high. A kilo of flour costs more than $25. Vegetables are rare and expensive. I can only afford one loaf of bread per day to feed my family. My children go to sleep with empty stomachs and wake up crying from hunger. Even salt is now a desperate option.
My son Youssef talks in his sleep — about food. His dreams are haunted by hunger. I have nothing to give him. I watch my wife try to stay strong, but I see the pain in her eyes as she sacrifices her portion of food to feed our children.
We have lost our home, our safety, our livelihood, and now — we are losing our health and hope. I am doing everything I can as a father, but it is not enough. I feel like I am failing my children, not because I lack love — but because the circumstances are beyond my control.
This is why I am asking, from the depths of my soul: Please help us.
We need food. We need shelter. We need safety. Most of all, we need a way out. I dream of evacuating my family from Gaza to a place where my children can live, not just survive. I want them to go to school, to play without fear, to have full bellies and peaceful dreams. I want my wife to live without the constant anxiety of another explosion. I want to rebuild, somewhere safe.
I don’t want donations forever. I want a chance — a chance to start over, to work, to live in dignity and peace.
If you’re reading this, please consider supporting us. Share our story. Advocate for safe passage for families like mine. Every act of kindness, every prayer, every dollar counts. You may not know us, but your support can be the difference between life and death for my children.
With all my heart,
Nader Hamd
