Why this fundraiser ?

My name is Asmaa Abu Alkas, and I am from Jabalia Camp in northern Gaza.

Since I was a child, I dreamed of studying medicine and dedicating my life to helping others. I worked hard throughout my school years and graduated from high school with a score of 90%, believing that education would be my path to a brighter future.

Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, I was unable to pursue my dream of studying medicine and instead enrolled in pharmacy, hoping to remain close to the medical field and continue working toward my goals.

Then the war changed everything.

My family lost our home, and my father lost his tailoring shop, which had been our family’s only source of income for many years. My father spent his life working tirelessly to provide for us and ensure that we could receive an education. Watching him lose not only his livelihood but also the profession he dedicated his life to has been heartbreaking.

Today, my family and I are living in a worn-out tent with little protection from the harsh weather. We struggle daily to secure even the most basic necessities. The uncertainty of what tomorrow may bring weighs heavily on all of us.

Despite these challenges, I refused to give up on my education. I successfully completed two years of pharmacy studies, determined to build a better future for myself and my family. However, because we could no longer afford the university tuition fees, I was forced to stop my studies. Seeing my education slip away after years of hard work has been one of the most painful experiences of my life.

I am not asking for luxury or comfort. I am simply asking for a chance—a chance to return to university, continue my education, and work toward the future I have fought so hard to achieve.

Your support will help me continue my studies and prevent my educational journey from ending because of circumstances beyond my control. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to returning to university, supporting my family, and one day giving back to my community.

If you are unable to donate, sharing my story would mean the world to me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for giving me hope that my future is still possible.

How Your Donations Will Be Spent

We believe in full transparency, and every penny you donate will be carefully used to restore our lives:

● Construction Materials: Funds will go toward purchasing essential materials such as concrete, bricks, and roofing supplies to rebuild a safe and durable home for my family. This is our first and most urgent priority, as we currently have no place to call home.
● Labor Costs: We will hire skilled workers to help with the construction, ensuring that the home is built properly and securely.
● Utilities and Essentials: The new home will need utilities like electricity, water, and sewage systems installed. We will also use part of the funds to purchase basic household items, including beds, cooking supplies, and other necessities, to make our house feel like a home once more.
● Medical Expenses: We will use the donations to cover the medical costs of my injured wife and pregnant sister, ensuring they receive the care they desperately need in these uncertain times.
● Educational Support: Some of the funds will be used to help me and my sister continue our studies, as education is our only hope for a brighter future.
● Business Recovery: Finally, we will use a portion of the funds to help my father rebuild his small shop. The shop was our family's only source of income, and restoring it will give us a path toward financial independence again.
