I am hosting a campaign for my friend Mohammed, a father struggling to survive and protect his loved ones amidst the horrors unfolding in Gaza. Mohammed had a Go Fund Me campaign which has been closed due to banking issues and consequently this new fundraiser has been set up.
Mohammed’s words which follow best describe the horrors that his family are going through.
“Hello, I'm Mohammed Taha Alkafarna, I'm 44 year's old and I have 9 children, 4 of whom are young. I once lived in Gaza, a land that combines the scent of the sea and the blossoms of hope, a life filled with luxury and comfort. I had everything—a beautiful, four-story home and a large supermarket bustling with life and people passing by every day. I enjoyed providing food and drink to the people in my neighborhood, surrounding them with my boundless support. I was at the peak of my happiness and felt on top of the world.
But as with many stories in Gaza, the calm didn’t last. The war came, turning our lives upside down—not only personally but for everything we owned. These were difficult moments, bringing death and destruction to every corner. The enemy destroyed my large home and obliterated my supermarket, which once provided for us. I lost everything, even my happiness and dreams.
Escaping from northern Gaza to the south was only the beginning of a new journey of suffering. I lived with my family in refugee camps, without shelter or safety. But what breaks the heart the most is losing loved ones, who became victims of this cursed war. Entire families were erased from existence, and our hearts were shattered with them. Even my daily bread became a difficult task, and we survived while waiting for aid that only arrived after long waits.
My life, once full of joy, turned into a tale of pain and tears. I once had a home and a business; now, I have nothing but memories and traumas. Will Gaza ever return to what it was? Will our lives go back to how they were? This question lingers in our minds as we struggle to survive. But we do not give up, for we are an indomitable people despite all we have lost.
This is my story, and I hope it serves as a lesson for everyone.
I ask charitable people for urgent assistance to enable me to provide for my family’s basic needs, especially in these difficult circumstances. Any help, no matter how small, will relieve us a lot and help us be resilient in the face of this adversity”.
Mohammed is seeking $15 000 (approx. £12 000) to provide basic resources for his family, such as milk ($50 weekly), diapers ($112 weekly), flour ($250 weekly) and food. Three of Mohammed’s children have a congenital heart condition. His daughter’s heart condition was only discovered in December 2024 when she was in hospital for treatment for malnutrition. Her heart treatment plan has not yet been worked out. The treatment costs for Mohammed’s 2 sons is $500 monthly.
Please donate if you can and as little as £5 will make a difference. I will send all donations via USDT transfer.
