Greetings! I am Vinoth, fundraising for Palestinian families and camps in Gaza. This is my third fundraiser as a host, but this one is different in that this family is not only surviving genocide but much more. I came to know this family through my ongoing fundraising and support efforts. As with the other efforts, all funds collected will be transparently declared, fully sent to the beneficiaries, and proof posted.
SZ (full name withheld), a resilient woman living in the Central Gaza Strip, is enduring unimaginable hardships. Amidst a year-long genocide, like her compatriots, she struggles daily to secure necessities like food and water. Her plight, however, is compounded by the psychological trauma inflicted by her resourceful husband, who has threatened divorce post-genocide and uses their children as pawns in his emotional games. His erratic behavior and threats to throw out their children leave the family in constant fear, with no police or government authority to turn to for help.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, SZ remains determined to protect her children and secure a better future for them. She has two pre-teens, two adolescents and a young adult. As a former temporary primary school teacher contracted by UNRWA on three occasions, she dreams of returning to the classroom in a permanent position once the genocide ends. However, she needs immediate financial support to prepare for the possibility of being thrown out by her husband.
This fundraiser aims to raise $29,000 to support SZ and her children for six months. This amount will cover their basic needs (temporary accommodation, food and potable water, salt water, medicine and hygiene products, and tools and services needed for surviving) and provide a safety net as she seeks a stable teaching position post-genocide. This is for survival, not evacuation. The goal amount accounts for various fees and up to a 35% commission rate demanded for withdrawing cash due to the liquidity crisis in Gaza.
Join us in supporting SZ and her children, ensuring they have the resources to survive and thrive in these challenging times. Your generosity can help them find financial stability and physical security, offer them hope and a chance to rebuild amidst the chaos outside and inside their house, and pave the way for a brighter future.
