Hello to all those who carry humanity in their hearts,
I am Zeyad Salem, 47 years old, speaking to you from the heart of Gaza, a city that has now become a place filled with sorrow and destruction. Here, we live daily suffering due to the circumstances imposed on us by the war. We were once living a peaceful and beautiful life, with plans and dreams we wanted to achieve. But unfortunately, everything changed in an instant.
On October 13th, we were forced to leave our home, the place where my children grew up and where we shared the best moments of our lives. We didn't know where to go, and we had to sleep in the streets for several days before moving to a school in the center of the Gaza Strip, where we now live under extremely harsh conditions.
The responsibility has become enormous. We lost our source of income and are suffering from the spread of diseases and epidemics in our place of displacement. We live in extremely difficult conditions and don't know how we will continue our lives in these circumstances.
My family consists of 8 members, including Asil, Moamen, Adeeb, Hadeel, Jana, and the youngest, Dima, who is 7 years old. All my children are attending school, and it is their right to continue their education, but we no longer have the ability to provide for even their most basic needs.
Tragically, my 13 year old daughter Islam died of kidney failure in spring 2025.💔

We are raising funds for:
1) Rising expenses of basic necessities—such as food, water, gas/wood for cooking, clothing, internet access.
2) Continued medical treatment for my wife and her mother.
3) Expenses for my children’s continued education. (My 3 youngest are in school, my eldest daughter Asil is studying nursing online, and my son Adeeb wishes to study nursing abroad next year.)
4) To rent a home instead of sheltering inside a school or tent.
5) Burial expenses for my daughter, Islam.
6) Once the border opens, we plan to quickly and safely evacuate our entire family to Egypt. When that great accomplishment is complete, we will finally begin to rebuild our life together.
