"Legal Protection of Civilians in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli Aggression 2023–2025."
I stood tall in the courts of Gaza, raising my voice in defense of justice and the oppressed. I was one of the youngest legal researchers in my field, and my name emerged early on as a promising figure in international law. I carried the dream of being the voice of Palestine in international legal forums.
But the war changed everything.
My law offices were destroyed in airstrikes, the courts that had embraced my efforts disappeared, my clients scattered, and my career path was shattered in one night.
Despite these harsh circumstances, I recently obtained a license to practice Sharia law from the Palestinian Bar Association, clinging to hope despite the collapse.
Today, I live with my family of 17 in a tent on the side of the road, after being displaced more than 14 times. We have no roof over our heads, no warmth, scarce food, and the losses are endless.
But what hurts me most is not my personal loss, but the suffering of my sisters, especially my 12-year-old sister Zain, who suffers from severe cerebral palsy and is completely paralyzed. She needs medication and diapers that cost about $100 every three days.
Zain cries in fear of the sound of shelling and cannot sit, move, or even cry without pain. We cannot afford her treatment or a wheelchair that would give her a minimum of dignity.
Zain deserves a better life, just like every child.
My father suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, but he cannot get his medication.
My brother Shihab suffers from Crohn's disease, a rare and painful condition for which there is no adequate treatment.
My seven sisters also live in harsh conditions, lacking the most basic necessities of privacy, hygiene, and dignity.
This is not just a fundraising campaign, but a rescue mission.
Zain deserves to be embraced with compassion, not to live in pain and silence.
Nizar deserves to rise again to continue defending the oppressed.
This family deserves food, warmth, and dignity.
