Hi, my name is Anri and I've started this fundraiser for my friend, Abdel. He has been incredible in helping me get funds to various Gazan families. He is always ready to help, even when going through unthinkably challenging times. The text below is Abdel's story in his own words.
Hello, I am Abdul Razzaq Abu Odeh from Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, the border area with our occupied territories. I got married three months before the war, and our home was filled with love and tenderness. We were displaced on the night of October 7th to Jabalia camp, and then a week later we were displaced to southern Gaza. We were displaced seven times until we reached the Deir al-Balah beach.
With the ceasefire and the beginning of the first phase, we returned to Beit Hanoun to set up our tents and rebuild our future. I was unfortunately forcibly displaced again and beated by the occupation - we lost everything in this displacement. Because we were then in the Sheikh Radwan area, my wife, in her last trimester of pregnancy at the time, was afraid and could not bear it. She went into premature labour on the first day of the ninth month and she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, who we've named Karaz.
My daughter was born prematurely and because of it had to remain in hospital and have undergone numerous tests. She was struggling to breastfeed and we had no option but to give her formula, which is extremely difficult to find and very expensive under current conditions. My daughter also has some health problems and is vulnerable to malnourishment, if we cannot get her enough formula to fullfill her needs. We are also struggling daily to get diapers and food.
With all our wordly posessions lost, and no means of income at the moment, we humbly ask for your support to buy formula, diapers, food, water, and clothes for our infant daughter so that she can live a better life than the one we live in the displacement areas. I hope you can help us to be in a safe place. Thank you and bless you.
